How-to View Speculative Plans only in Terraform Cloud UI Run List

Use Case

Terraform Cloud (TFC) speculative plans are plan-only runs and cannot be applied [a]. Due to a recent TFC update, speculative plans will now be included within the TFC UI workspace run list.  This list now contains all recent runs mixed with speculative plans [b]. 

Is there a filter option to only display speculative runs in this list? Yes, please see the procedure outlined below.

 

Procedure

Navigate to your workspace and the run list. Use the filter by choosing plan only under the Operation heading. This will show speculative plans only in the Run list.

  • Access the workspace within Terraform cloud, it is usually https://app.terraform.io. 

  • Access the workspace Run List.

  • The headers under theRun List title will contain an Operation filter by option.

  • Click on Operation and select filter by Plan Only from the dropdown then press Apply.

  • TheRun List should now contain plan only runs.
